Position overview

As the Investment Manager for Xapo Bank, you will play a critical role in managing the multi-asset investment portfolio, including both traditional and crypto assets. Working within our Finance function, you will contribute to the overall balance sheet management, ensuring adherence to established risk frameworks. This role requires expertise in investment management, risk assessment, and a deep understanding of both traditional and emerging asset classes.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Asset Management:

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for managing Xapo's multi-asset investment portfolio and yield generation optimisation.
• Analyse market trends and identify investment opportunities across traditional and crypto asset classes that optimise yield generation.
• Optimise portfolio performance while considering risk, liquidity, and market exposure.
• Provide regular strategic intelligence on the competitive landscape and when requested produce reports and assessments of investment opportunities
• Build and maintain a strong network of contacts throughout the global blockchain and crypto industries
• Establish effective and well-organised investment processes.
• Write clear and well-informed investment memos and recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.

Risk Management:

• Assess and manage risks associated with diverse asset classes, including traditional and crypto assets.
• Collaborate with the Treasury team to establish risk mitigation measures and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Conduct thorough financial analysis of various asset classes, providing insights to senior management.
• Develop metrics to monitor Xapo's risk appetite and report against established limits.
• Write clear and well-informed investment memos and recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
• Organise regular investment reports and reviews, including quantitative and qualitative portfolio studies proven experience in Blockchain and digital assets.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Engage with key stakeholders and external partners in the financial and crypto space.
• Collaborate with the wider Finance team to align investment strategies with business initiatives.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and support changes to systems, processes, and practices to enhance operational efficiency in asset management.
• Stay informed about industry developments and recommend adjustments to investment strategies.

Skills needed

• Solid experience in managing multi-asset portfolios within a financial institution
• Extensive experience in one of or a combination of; accounting, finance, investment management, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, product, engineering, or a related field.
• A demonstrated working knowledge of various types of digital assets and blockchain platforms.
• In-depth understanding of traditional and crypto markets, blockchain technology, and relevant regulations.
• Familiarity with risk management principles and frameworks applicable to diverse asset classes.
• Proven track record of successful asset management resulting in portfolio optimization and yield optimisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, relationship-building expertise within the investment community, and the ability to collaborate effectively with an executive team.
• Degree qualification with a relevant professional certification.
• Ability to adapt swiftly to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
