About Zuba

About the role

Zuba’s product is a payment network. We’re looking for a Head of Network to own it.
The network is the banks, payout partners, liquidity providers, and licence partners that move our money across emerging markets, from Africa to the Gulf to Asia. You’ll own that stack globally: originate and negotiate the partnerships that open new corridors, activate them to first live transaction, and own the performance, economics, and resilience of everything already live.
This is one of the most consequential seats in the company. Every corridor we can serve, every rate we can quote, and every payment that clears on time traces back to the network you build. You’ll work directly with the CEO and be Zuba’s face to banks, PSPs, and licensed partners worldwide.

What you'll do

Own the global partner network end to end. Banking relationships, payout partners, liquidity providers, and licence partnerships across every market we operate in, from origination through negotiation to live.
Launch corridors. Scope the market, identify and diligence partners, negotiate commercial terms, and drive integration and activation to first live transaction. You own the timeline and the outcome.
Run the live stack. Track partner performance against SLAs, manage pricing and capacity, handle escalations, and renegotiate terms as our volumes grow and our leverage improves.
Engineer resilience. No corridor should depend on a single partner. You’ll build redundancy into every rail, kill single points of failure, and know the failover plan before it is needed.
Own partner unit economics. Work with treasury and finance to know the true cost of every corridor, and use that to drive pricing, partner selection, and renegotiation.
Work with legal and compliance. Partner onboarding, due diligence, licence structures, and the regulatory perimeter in each market. You don’t need to be a lawyer, but you need to know which questions matter.
Be Zuba's face to the market. Represent us with banks, PSPs, and financial institutions globally. The best partners have options; your job is to make them choose us.

Who you are

You’ve built payment networks before. 6+ years in partnerships, network, or banking roles in payments or fintech, with direct experience originating and negotiating agreements with banks, PSPs, or payout partners.
You know emerging-market rails. You understand how money actually moves in markets where the mid-market rate is contested, capacity is finite, and the best partner on paper is not always the best partner in production.
You’re commercial and risk-literate at once. You negotiate hard on pricing and terms, and you can also read a partner's licence, settlement model, and counterparty risk without help.
You’re fluent in stablecoin settlement, or close enough to get there fast. You understand on/off-ramps, custody, and what a bank needs to see before it will work with a stablecoin-native payments company.
You’re an operator, not a relationship manager. Partnerships here are measured in live transactions, not signed MOUs. You drive integrations to completion and you own what happens after go-live.
Bonus: Experience at a payment network or cross-border infrastructure company (Thunes, Nium, dLocal, TerraPay, Flutterwave, Wise Platform). Direct knowledge of African payout networks and licensing landscapes. Existing relationships with banks or PSPs in our markets.

Some topics you'll think about

When do we go direct to a licensed partner versus through an aggregator, and how does that answer change as our volumes grow?
How do we double payout capacity in our largest corridor without adding fragility?
Which corridors do we open next, in what sequence, and what does the partner map for each look like?
What does a bank need to see to onboard a stablecoin-native payments company, and how do we make that a repeatable process rather than a one-off negotiation?
How do we structure partner agreements so that pricing improves automatically as volume scales, instead of renegotiating from scratch each time?

Our hiring process

We keep it fast and transparent.
Intro chat (30 mins) with Josiah (CEO & Co-Founder). An informal conversation about your background, how you think about payment networks, and what you’re looking for.
Network deep dive (60 mins). Walk us through a partnership you took from first conversation to live transactions, and a corridor or rail you made more resilient. How you diligenced, negotiated, and activated it, and what you would do differently. We want specifics.
Work trial (2 days, paid). The best way to know if we’re a good fit is to work together, and we pay for your time. You’ll spend two days with us at our Central London office, meeting the team and working on live partner threads.
Offer. If all goes well, we’ll make you an offer, and we can’t wait to welcome you aboard!
