About Zuba
About the role
We're looking for a Member of Specialist Staff (GTM & Ops) to be the CEO's force multiplier across everything commercial and operational. You'll own pipeline development and partnership execution — and you'll also own the things that no one else naturally owns: investor materials, launch coordination, customer ops, office management, and whatever else needs doing to keep Zuba moving.
This is our first dedicated hire across GTM and operations. Half your job is building the commercial engine — taking prospects from cold outreach to signed agreement, executing launches from contract to first transaction, and building the systems that let us scale. The other half is making the company run — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks, owning processes that don't have a home yet, and being the person who makes things move when no one else is.
A few reasons why you might find this exciting:
You'll build the commercial engine from scratch — pipeline generation, deal progression, partner management, and market intelligence systems. You'll create the playbook, not follow one.
You'll be the operational backbone — investor updates, board materials, customer onboarding, office logistics, launch coordination. If it needs doing and no one owns it, you do.
Full-cycle ownership — you'll close your own deals, execute partnership launches end-to-end, produce investor materials without supervision, and keep the company operationally tight. No hand-offs, no waiting.
Become a credible external voice — within 12 months, you'll represent Zuba to investors, partners, press, and at industry events. Not as "the founder's associate" but as a spokesperson in your own right.
Who you areYou're commercially sharp — you have 1-3 years in startups, fintech, consulting, or B2B sales and understand how to close deals (less experience matters if you're exceptional). You close, not just qualify — you've taken deals from first conversation to signed agreement. You understand the difference between creating demand and managing relationships. You're operationally relentless — you see what's broken, unowned, or falling behind, and you fix it without being asked. You don't distinguish between "my job" and "not my job."You thrive in ambiguity — comfortable structuring problems from scratch and switching between a partnership negotiation, an investor update, and an office logistics issue in the same afternoon. You're an exceptional communicator — you write clearly, build relationships quickly, and can represent Zuba externally with confidence. Your written output — emails, decks, investor updates — is clean and doesn't need heavy editing. You build systems — outreach sequences, qualification frameworks, onboarding checklists, reporting cadences. You document what works so it scales beyond you. You're entrepreneurial and scrappy — excited by the grind, not just the vision. You've built something yourself — a business, a project, a side hustle — and can talk about what you learned. You're curious — genuinely interested in emerging markets, payments infrastructure, and stablecoin rails.Bonus: Experience in payments/remittances, understanding of crypto infrastructure, or network in African markets.
Some topics you'll think aboutHow do we prioritise and sequence our corridor expansion after Nigeria? What's the most effective way to sell into remittance providers versus banks versus payment platforms? How do we differentiate our approach? How do we position stablecoin infrastructure to customers who may be crypto-curious or crypto-skeptical?What does a smooth customer onboarding look like from signed contract to first live transaction — and how do we systematise it?What operational processes does the company need now versus later, and how do we build just enough structure without slowing things down? How do we produce investor and board materials that are so good they become a competitive advantage in fundraising?

Our hiring process
We keep it fast and transparent.
Intro chat (30 mins) with Josiah (CEO & Co-Founder) — informal discussion about your experience, values, and career goals. An opportunity to get a sense of the role, the team, and how we work.
GTM & ops deep dive (45 mins) — walk us through your track record across commercial and operational work. How you approach building pipelines, closing deals, and keeping a company running. You'll also have the opportunity to ask about our strategy, ongoing projects, and methods.
Work trial (2 days) — the best way to see if we're a good fit is to work together. You'll spend two days with us at our Central London office, working on live projects — this could be anything from joining a partner call to producing investor materials to solving an operational problem. Feel free to ask questions — you'll be part of the team for the trial.
Offer. If all goes well, we'll extend an offer and can't wait to welcome you aboard!
