About Onmeta

Onmeta is a Bengaluru-based fintech infrastructure company enabling compliant fiat payment and settlement flows for Virtual Digital Asset platforms.

Banking and payment rails are mission-critical to our business. We are looking for someone who can convert leadership-level banking conversations into active accounts, integrated payment rails and reliable day-to-day operations.

Role Summary

This is a high-ownership individual-contributor role combining banking partnerships with payment operations.

You will work directly with banks and payment partners, drive documentation and onboarding, coordinate internal teams, support integrations and manage operational escalations.

This is not a relationship-only alliances role, a pure business-development position or a back-office payment-operations role. The successful candidate must be able to engage bank stakeholders independently while remaining hands-on with documentation, trackers, follow-ups, UAT and issue resolution.

What You Will Own

  • Build and maintain the pipeline of banking and payment-rail opportunities, with clear stages, stakeholders, requirements, blockers and next actions.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and activation of current accounts, collection accounts, payout accounts, virtual accounts and API-enabled banking arrangements.
  • Drive the closure of corporate KYC, re-KYC, due-diligence questionnaires, declarations, agreements and supporting documentation required by banks and payment partners.
  • Work directly with bank teams across relationship management, transaction banking, cash management, digital banking, operations, product, risk, compliance and legal.
  • Move opportunities from initial discussion through due diligence, onboarding, integration, UAT and production readiness.
  • Coordinate payment rails involving UPI, IMPS, NEFT/RTGS, VANs, collections, payouts, settlements and reconciliation workflows.
  • Work with Product and Technology on integration requirements, API documentation, UAT issues and go-live readiness.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Risk, Compliance and Legal on settlement requirements, fund-flow explanations, controls, transaction evidence and bank queries.
  • Drive bank-side resolution of liens, debit freezes, chargebacks, settlement holds, stuck funds, account restrictions, remitter-information requests and transaction disputes.
  • Monitor active rails, escalate downtime and failed transactions promptly, identify single points of failure and support alternate collection, payout and settlement arrangements.
  • Maintain bank-wise stakeholder maps, escalation matrices, documentation trackers, issue logs and concise weekly management updates.
  • Attend bank branch, regional-office and head-office meetings when required.

Product and Technology will own integration delivery; Finance will own settlement and reconciliation controls; Risk, Compliance and Legal will own the relevant regulatory and legal substance. This role will coordinate these workstreams and drive them to closure.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in fintech, payments, banking, transaction banking, cash management, payment gateways, payment aggregators, PSPs or neobanks.
  • At least two years of direct exposure to banking partnerships, payment operations, bank-side fintech onboarding or transaction banking.
  • Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: current or collection accounts, virtual accounts, payout arrangements, API banking, payment-gateway onboarding or cash-management solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Indian payment rails, including UPI, IMPS, NEFT/RTGS, collections, payouts, settlements and reconciliation.
  • Experience coordinating bank or payment-partner documentation, due diligence, agreements, onboarding, UAT or go-live activities.
  • Ability to engage bank stakeholders independently, including teams beyond the relationship manager.
  • Ability to understand payment and fund flows and explain them clearly to banks and internal teams.
  • Strong follow-up discipline and comfort maintaining trackers, MIS and written updates.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness to work from the Bengaluru office and travel up to 20%.
  • Willingness to support occasional critical banking or payment-rail escalations outside standard working hours when necessary.

Good to Have

  • Direct experience activating VANs, payout APIs, payment gateways or cash-management solutions.
  • Experience in digital assets, cross-border payments or another enhanced-due-diligence sector.
  • Exposure to chargebacks, liens, debit freezes, settlement failures, account restrictions or bank escalations.
  • Experience preparing SOPs, UAT checklists, reconciliation reports or operational dashboards.
  • Prior experience working closely with Product, Technology, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams.

Working Style

This role suits someone who:

  • Works independently and creates structure in ambiguous situations.
  • Is persistent and disciplined in driving documentation, follow-ups and decisions to closure.
  • Escalates early with facts, options and clear next steps.
  • Is comfortable handling both bank-facing conversations and detailed operational execution.
  • Wants to develop toward broader banking and payments leadership over time.

This is not a relationship-only, pure business-development or delegation-heavy role. The person must be willing to handle documentation, follow-ups and operational escalations personally.

Career Scope

This role offers direct exposure to Onmeta’s leadership and critical financial-infrastructure decisions. As Onmeta expands its banking network, products and geographies, a consistently high-performing candidate can grow into broader ownership of banking partnerships, payment infrastructure and team leadership.
