The role in a nutshell:
As the Platform Liquidity Lead, you will be the senior subject matter expert in fiat and crypto exchange liquidity, providing strategic oversight across Treasury, Exchange, OTC and Liquidity services. Your core mission is to connect how these critical functions fit together, driving efficiency, unlocking new products, ensuring stability and scale globally. This role is about bringing focus to high-leverage items for the business and aiding the growth of key elements.
Your mission will be:
- Liquidity Architecture Design: Architect and continuously optimize our liquidity sourcing strategy for exchange (trading) related products. This includes designing robust liquidity and collateral management frameworks for spot margin products by structuring borrow/lend pools, and developing the sophisticated architecture required for perpetual futures and derivatives, including the design of liquidation engines, insurance funds, and funding rate mechanisms.
- Liquidity Needs Analysis & Advisory: Act as the subject matter expert on exchange liquidity health. Analyze market performance and order book depth to identify gaps and requirements for new or existing market makers. Provide data-driven input to business development and commercial teams to guide their contracting and relationship management efforts to ensure deep and healthy order books.
- Liquidity Pool Analysis & Strategy: Analyze the performance and health of our existing liquidity pools across all venues. Develop data-driven strategies for consolidating liquidity, designing new pools, and optimizing venue selection to enhance overall market depth, reduce fragmentation, and improve execution quality for all participants.
- Market and pair lifecycle management: Strategically determine which markets and pairs to list and which to decommission based on performance and business objectives. Monitor pair health and identify volume requirements for market makers to ensure robust liquidity.
- New asset and product support: Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop and implement the optimal liquidity strategy for new asset listings on exchange, new market entries, and complex financial products.
- Risk management: Proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate liquidity risks, including counterparty risk and market volatility impacts. Develop and maintain contingency and crisis management plans.
- Market intelligence: Be the expert on the evolving market landscape, staying ahead of trends in market structure, new liquidity protocols, and competitive offerings to inform our exchange strategy.\
