This is the target annual salary range for this role. This range is not inclusive of other additional compensation elements, such as our Bonus program, Equity program, Wellness allowance, and other benefits [US Only] (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

The Geo Expansion organization builds the business by ensuring global alignment of Kraken’s commercial goals and execution. Geo Expansion Managers play a critical role on a team core to Kraken’s global operating effectiveness. You will be expected to operate independently in a highly cross-functional context, working directly with nearly every team and department. You will have a unique opportunity to positively influence the entire organization by driving initiatives that directly impact the company’s bottom line.

The opportunity
Report to the Head of Geo Expansion to deliver Kraken’s operating infrastructure and commercial strategy worldwide.
Drive new market initiatives by providing cross-functional program management, ensuring seamless transition from strategic opportunity development to revenue realization.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to align on regulatory strategy and license acquisition, fostering maximum harmony across stakeholders.
Partner with regional growth and marketing teams to ensure playbooks are holistic, incorporating all required licensing and compliance elements.
Establish best practices in license acquisition project management, including repositories of documents, operational flows, and standardized application responses.
Work with corporate development, business development, finance, compliance, and legal teams to maximize regulatory, tax, and strategic partnership opportunities.
Build business plans, financial models, and design operational flows across products and geographies to chart Kraken’s go-to-market path forward; develop data-driven recommendations to solve critical expansion strategy challenges.

Cultivate deep knowledge of regional best practices; create corporate resources, processes, and standards for global use; identify inefficiencies, redundancies, or bottlenecks across theaters and drive process improvements.
Skills you should HODL
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in consulting, financial services, strategy, program/ops management, or similar analyst roles.
Strong familiarity with crypto business models (custody, exchanges, OTC, staking, broker models) and financial markets/products (retail, derivatives, Web3 protocols).
Solid grasp of blockchain/crypto concepts with ability to explain complex topics to non-experts.
Proven track record in business process management, operations, and scaling in hyper-growth companies or international markets.
Experience balancing legal/regulatory requirements with business priorities for emerging financial products.
Strong project, workload, and process management; skilled at working across multiple functions and geographies.
Ability to break down complex problems, apply structured thinking, and drive clear action plans.
Entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, adaptable, tenacious, flexible to work across global time zones; excellent communicator with a hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach.
Nice to haves
Past success in working directly with financial services regulators; ideally experience in obtaining new licenses.
Knowledge of Lean principles, six sigma and/or business process management concepts.
Advanced user of Excel and Powerpoint, familiar with G-Suite equivalents
Intermediate or greater SQL proficiency a plus.
Financial modeling background.
MBA preferred.
