The Crown Is Yours
DraftKings is growing quickly and we’re looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer to direct our engineering teams and influence our product roadmap. This is more than a technical position, though. You’ll be collaborating across teams, informing our business decisions, and creatively finding solutions to all of our scaling challenges.
What you’ll do as a Senior Lead Software Engineer
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based applications using AWS services.
- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using .NET C#.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.
- Ensure the application of best practices in coding, security, and performance.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including refactoring legacy codebases.
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Your experience as the ‘expert’ in a development team where you were responsible for everything from planning to delivering key features and management of those features.
- Strong expertise in .NET software development stack, including C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, etc.
- Experience on ServiceStack is an advantage
- Experience with containerized microservices, auto-scaling, and managed infrastructures.
- Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure is a plus.
- You have strong relational database skills using technologies like MySQL or SQL Server.
- Prior experience helping scale a rapidly growing company is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, real-time decision-making, and responsiveness to problem-solving that put the customer experience first. Familiarity with JavaScript, Typescript, and popular frameworks such as React and/or Angular, Node.js, etc.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to mentor and lead a team of engineers.
