Job Overview

The Fleet Manager is responsible for the performance, reliability, and optimization of Fortitude Mining’s ASIC fleet across both Fortitude-operated self-mining sites and third-party hosting providers.

This role sits above individual sites and is accountable for fleet-wide consistency in firmware, configuration, monitoring, repair strategy, and performance outcomes, regardless of where equipment is deployed. While Site Managers and Site Leads are responsible for day-to-day execution at Fortitude-operated sites, and hosting partners are responsible for local facilities execution, the Fleet Manager is accountable for how the fleet behaves as a system across all environments.

The Fleet Manager acts as the connective tissue between Site Operations, Network Operations, Repair teams, and external hosting partners. This role also stewards fleet-wide ASIC inventory integrity, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and visibility of assets across self-mining sites, hosted facilities, repair pipelines, and logistics flows. The role is responsible for driving disciplined execution, standardization, and continuous improvement across the fleet, ensuring uptime, efficiency, and reliability targets are met at scale.

The ideal candidate for this role brings strong communication and organizational skills, deep technical understanding of large-scale cryptocurrency mining operations, and a systems-oriented mindset. This role requires the ability to translate data into operational decisions, manage cross-functional initiatives, mitigate fleet-level risk, and ensure mining operations meet Fortitude Mining’s performance and cost objectives.

This is a rare opportunity to shape and scale disciplined fleet operations as the company continues to grow. The Fleet Manager operates at the fleet level, partnering closely with site leadership and hosting providers to deliver consistent outcomes across a distributed operating footprint.

This role includes periodic site visits to Fortitude-operated and hosted locations to validate ASIC inventory accuracy, audit adherence to fleet standards and SOPs, and support new site deployments and expansions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive fleet-wide performance, reliability, and efficiency across all Fortitude-operated self-mining sites and third-party hosting providers.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the ASIC fleet as a system, ensuring consistent behavior, configuration, and outcomes across a distributed operating footprint.
  • Define, standardize, and govern firmware, tuning profiles, power modes, and configuration baselines across the fleet.
  • Steward fleet-wide ASIC inventory accuracy and asset lifecycle management, from deployment and commissioning through repair, RMA, redeployment, and retirement.
  • Establish and maintain fleet-level repair and RMA strategies, prioritizing work based on overall fleet impact and return-to-service timelines.
  • Define, maintain, and enforce fleet-wide performance metrics related to uptime, hashrate, efficiency, and repair throughput.
  • Partner with Site Managers, Site Leads, and hosting providers to ensure site-level execution aligns with fleet standards and priorities.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for systemic fleet issues that span sites, hosting providers, firmware, or hardware generations.
  • Drive disciplined change management for fleet-wide configuration, firmware, and operational changes.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and enforcement of SOPs and EOPs related to fleet operations, configuration, and recovery.
  • Partner with Network Operations to ensure consistent monitoring, telemetry, alerting, and visibility across the fleet.
  • Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities, and translate findings into actionable plans.
  • Support capacity planning, fleet refresh, and deployment strategies in partnership with Operations leadership.
  • Act as a key operational interface with firmware vendors, repair vendors, hosting partners, and internal engineering or product teams.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to Fortitude-operated and hosted locations to validate ASIC inventory accuracy, audit adherence to fleet SOPs, and ensure consistent operational standards.
  • Support new site launches and expansions by overseeing hardware deployment, commissioning, and initial fleet configuration to ensure alignment with fleet standards from day one.
  • Ensure fleet operations meet Fortitude Mining’s performance, reliability, cost, and risk management objectives.

ABOUT YOU:

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in large-scale cryptocurrency mining, data center operations, or other high-density technical infrastructure environments, with demonstrated progression into fleet-level operational oversight
  • Proven experience making independent operational decisions that impact system-wide performance, reliability, and efficiency across multiple sites or environments
  • Advanced technical expertise in ASIC mining hardware, firmware management, tuning strategies, and miner fleet management platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze fleet-wide performance data, identify systemic risks or optimization opportunities, and implement strategic operational improvements
  • Experience establishing or governing standardized configuration baselines, firmware policies, and fleet change management processes
  • Strong understanding of ASIC asset lifecycle strategy, including deployment planning, inventory integrity, repair prioritization, RMA strategy, redeployment decisions, and retirement planning
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders including Site Operations, Network Operations, Repair teams, engineering teams, and third-party hosting providers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent fleet-level initiatives with minimal supervision, balancing operational risk, performance impact, and business priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical and operational data into business-impacting decisions
  • Experience operating in industrial or data center environments, with working knowledge of safety, operational, and compliance considerations
  • Proficiency with fleet monitoring systems, operational dashboards, data analysis tools (Excel or similar), and standard productivity platforms (O365 or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings, recommendations, and operational strategies to technical teams and leadership
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset and accountability for fleet-wide outcomes, not just task execution
  • Ability to travel periodically to operating sites and hosted facilities to support strategic operational reviews, inventory validation, and deployment oversight

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Operations, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience overseeing ASIC fleets across both self-operated sites and third-party hosting providers
  • Deep familiarity with firmware selection, tuning methodologies, and performance tradeoff analysis (hashrate vs. efficiency vs. hardware longevity)
  • Experience defining or governing fleet-wide standards, SOPs, and configuration control frameworks
  • Background in hardware reliability analysis, failure trend modeling, or repair operations at scale
  • Experience serving as a technical or operational liaison with firmware vendors, repair vendors, or hosting partners
  • Familiarity with monitoring, telemetry, or automation platforms used in large-scale infrastructure environments
  • Experience supporting new site deployments, fleet expansions, or large-scale hardware commissioning
  • Experience mentoring, training, or providing technical leadership to site-level operations or technical staff

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is primarily office-based. The Fleet Manager works closely with site teams, hosting providers, and cross-functional partners through a combination of in-person collaboration and remote coordination.

Periodic travel to Fortitude-operated and hosted mining sites is required to support inventory validation, SOP audits, hardware deployments, and major operational initiatives. When on-site, the role may involve walking the mining floor, navigating industrial environments, and observing active operations. During site deployments, expansions, or major hardware rollouts, the role may also involve periods of physically demanding work associated with equipment staging, verification, and commissioning; however, this is not a continuously physical, day-to-day role. The Fleet Manager is expected to follow all site safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting operating facilities.
