Senior Automation Infrastructure Engineer
Fordefi
Who We Are
Fordefi is the first institutional-grade wallet platform purpose-built for DeFi. Operating at the intersection of security and blockchain, our team of crypto custody and cybersecurity experts builds and operates the industry-leading MPC wallet used by nearly 300 institutional clients to deploy capital securely across multiple blockchains.
Fordefi has recently been acquired by Paxos, a leading regulated digital asset infrastructure provider that issues stable-coins for global enterprises and powers brokerage and settlement solutions for major financial institutions and fintechs. Together with Paxos, we are scaling Fordefi's technology and accelerating our mission to provide institutions with secure and reliable access to digital assets.
What You'll Do
As Fordefi's first Automation Infrastructure Engineer, you'll architect and own our automation platform from the ground up - turning it into a core infrastructure layer, not a collection of tests.
- Build the platform. Design and operate a production-grade, Playwright-based E2E system that provides trusted, release-gating confidence across Extension, Mobile, and Backend.
- Own the foundations. Establish framework architecture, CI/CD integration, test orchestration, reporting, observability, and long-term suite health.
- Lead AI-native automation. Leverage generative AI for intelligent test generation, self-healing locators, failure clustering, and automated root-cause analysis to compress manual effort and accelerate releases.
- Define the strategy. Set and evolve Fordefi's E2E and regression strategy - including cross-client reliability standards, contract testing, and data-driven coverage decisions that proactively reduce risk.
What Are We Looking For
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in test automation beyond unit tests, including designing and maintaining system-level and E2E suites in complex, multi-service environments.
- A systems-oriented builder who's energized by standing up infrastructure from zero - and by using AI tools and autonomous agents to scale what one engineer can do.
- Deep experience with Playwright (preferred) or comparable modern E2E frameworks (Cypress, etc.), including strategies for taming flakiness and optimizing CI feedback loops.
- Strong backend testing chops: REST APIs, async workflows, event-driven systems.
- Track record of building shared test infrastructure and frameworks that other engineers actually adopt.
- Risk-based thinking - you instinctively prioritize what to automate based on where the real production danger lives.
- Comfortable operating across backend, frontend, and mobile boundaries.
Nice to Have
- Experience optimizing CI/CD pipelines for large test suites.
- Familiarity with mobile automation frameworks.
- Blockchain fundamentals (EVM, transactions, gas, events/logs, confirmations, reorgs).
