About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee both loan and corporate accounting functions. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial data at both the loan and enterprise levels, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in loan accounting as well as corporate accounting processes such as general ledger management, expense accruals, and financial reporting. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to take ownership of key accounting responsibilities across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform daily and monthly accounting for loan activity, including originations, payments, interest accruals, servicing fees, charge-offs, and loan sales.
  • Execute accurate and timely month-end close processes, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, and financial reporting
  • Maintain and reconcile loan sub-ledgers and ensure alignment with general ledger and financial statements.
  • Apply and support accounting policies and procedures for both loan-related and corporate transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal standards.
  • Prepare documentation to support financial audits, regulatory filings, and internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including lending operations, compliance, capital markets, and FP&A—to ensure accurate financial data flow and reporting across all areas of the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance internal controls, and implement automation or system enhancements to support scalability.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting; experience with consumer lending or financial services preferred.
  • Strong understanding of loan accounting principles, including loan originations, interest accrual, servicing fees, and charge-offs is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.

Salary

  • Compensation Range: $88,000 - $110,000
  • 25% annual bonus target, paid quarterly
  • Equity stock options package
  • This is the compensation range for the United States, actual compensation may vary based on individual candidate experience, location, or evolving business needs
