About Elwood
Elwood Technologies is a FCA regulated firm that provides end-to-end institutional-grade digital asset Execution, Liquidity Access and Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management Software. Built with institutions for institutions, Elwood’s EMS offers best available price execution, smart order routing and algorithmic tooling alongside a traditional finance grade Portfolio Management and Risk System.
Built by industry experts with decades of combined experience in investment management and digital technology, we are now looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to lead our Solutions team to ensure Elwood’s product is positioned as a tailored platform, carefully designed to meet each client’s unique use case.
Job Description
Elwood is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to lead our growing global Solutions team. Sitting at the intersection of Product, Sales, Engineering and Operations, the Technical Sales Engineer plays a critical role in our commercial process, bridging strategic discovery, product fit validation, and solution delivery.
This is not a demo-driven sales support role. Every institutional client has specific needs, and it is the Technical Sales Engineer’s role to understand those needs and design modular, scalable solutions using Elwood’s OEMS and PMS platform. You will work closely with prospective clients, internal stakeholders, and senior decision-makers to deliver tailored solutions and workflows that solve real-world trading, risk, and operational complexity.
This is a high-impact opportunity for someone with a technical, consulting or fintech background, who enjoys solving complex problems at the frontier of digital asset infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in sales discovery by mapping stakeholders, capturing functional requirements, and identifying key workflows (execution, risk, reconciliation, reporting).
- Lead initial product fit assessments, identifying blockers, constraints, or required customizations early in the cycle.
- Drive solution design by translating prospect requirements into tailored OEMS/PMS workflows, data flows, and integration specifications.
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, Engineering and Client Delivery Team on feasibility and configuration of custom modules, API use cases, and reporting enhancements.
- Present proposed solutions and lead product deep dives during pre-sales workshops and executive sponsor sessions.
- Refine solution proposals post-demo based on client feedback and internal alignment.
- Draft implementation models, timelines, and onboarding plans in coordination with Product and GCD (Global Client Delivery).
- Own and maintain internal documentation on solution templates, marketing materials, configuration standards, and client-specific builds.
- Partner closely with Sales, playing a pivotal role in driving opportunities through to successful closure
Essential Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years’ experience in a solution-focused, client-facing or consultative role (e.g. fintech, SaaS vendor, system integrator, or management consultancy), including at least 2 years in financial technology, capital markets, or blockchain-enabled platforms (highly desirable).
- Familiarity with institutional trading workflows across asset classes—ideally FX, crypto, or macro.
- Experience working with execution platforms (OEMS, OMS), PMS, or portfolio/risk tools.
- Strong understanding of product configuration, system integration, and solution scoping in a B2B context.
- Strong, confident communicator comfortable engaging with managers, and operations teams at all level
- Technically literate: able to read API docs, work with JSON/CSV, and collaborate with technical teams.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building structure in evolving client engagements.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in institutional crypto trading, digital asset market structure, or traditional finance, including familiarity with reconciliation tools, trading workflows, algorithms, risk metrics, and trade lifecycle management
- Familiarity with pre-sales frameworks and deal-stage dynamics in complex B2B sales cycles.
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools is a plus.
Qualifications and previous work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2+years prior experience working in financial technology, capital markets, or blockchain-enabled platforms is highly desirable.
