We are looking for a Technical Recruiter.
The rôle
We are seeking an exceptional Technical Recruiter to join our People team and drive the end-to-end hiring of a full engineering squad. In this role, you will play a strategic and hands-on part in scaling our Engineering organization by identifying, engaging, and closing top technical talent across multiple specializations (Backend, Frontend, Mobile, SRE/DevOps, QA, Data, Staff-level roles).
You will own the complete recruitment lifecycle—from intake to offer—while working closely with Engineering leadership to build high-performing, mission-aligned teams. Your mission is to reduce time-to-hire, raise our talent bar, and build a strong, diverse, and sustainable technical pipeline for current and future needs.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Talent Acquisition & Pipeline Building
- Write and publish compelling technical job descriptions aligned with each squad’s needs.
- Source and engage high-caliber candidates via platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, YC Work at a Startup/Bookface (where applicable), and other niche engineering communities.
- Build and maintain a predictive talent pipeline for Engineering roles (IC and leadership).
- Screening & Assessment
- Review and evaluate technical resumes, assessing specialized skills, seniority, and culture alignment.
- Conduct pre-screening calls to validate technical competency, motivation, and expectations.
- Organize and coordinate structured interviews, technical assessments, coding challenges, portfolio reviews, and behavioral interviews.
- Partner closely with Engineering Managers, VP Engineering, and CPTO to define scorecards and reduce bias in evaluation.
- Hiring Process Management
- Own the full recruitment lifecycle from intake to offer.
- Drive alignment with Engineering leadership on hiring priorities, headcount forecasting, and squad composition.
- Craft personalized outreach messages, nurture passive candidates, and manage talent communities.
- Prepare job offers and support candidates through onboarding stages to ensure a smooth transition.
- Employer Branding & Talent Engagement
- Represent the company at tech conferences, meetups, online communities, and university engagements.
- Promote our engineering culture and EVP through content, events, and candidate experience excellence.
- Contribute to building Djamo as one of the most attractive fintech employers in the region.
- Process Excellence & Reporting
- Leverage our ATS to track candidates, ensure data accuracy, and provide visibility to leadership.
- Monitor recruitment KPIs (time-to-hire, pipeline quality, offer acceptance, etc.) and propose improvements.
- Conduct job and task analyses to refine role requirements continuously.
- Stay up-to-date with engineering trends, emerging tools, and competitive tech hiring practices.
Your profile
- Professional Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Technical Recruiter in a fast-paced environment (startup, scale-up, or tech agency).
- Demonstrated success in hiring full engineering squads or multiple tech roles simultaneously.
- Strong ability to understand and articulate technical requirements across software engineering, DevOps, QA, Data, and product-adjacent roles.
- Mastery of sourcing techniques (Boolean search, X-ray, niche platforms, passive talent engagement).
- Strong command of interviewing modalities (phone, video, structured, behavioral, competency-based).
- Proficiency with ATS tools and technical resume databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
- Solid understanding of HR practices, confidentiality, and local labor legislation.
