Founded in 2023, Cyphlens is a venture-backed, NYC based start-up currently in hyper-growth mode. We are dedicated to revolutionizing cybersecurity with our multi-patented next gen cryptographic solutions.

As we gear up for our next growth phase, we're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our tight-knit team and help scale our infrastructure.

Your role

You will work closely with our CTO and engineering team to enhance and secure our backend infrastructure, implement CI/CD processes, ensure system robustness, and drive scalability in line with Cyphlen’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage robust cloud-based microservices infrastructures, focusing on asynchronous processing, scalability, low latency, high availability and disaster recovery. Experience with AWS GovCloud is a plus but not required
• Lead the creation of new, secure environments, with a keen eye on infrastructure and application security, asynchronous operations, secrets management and storage
• Design, develop and maintain a next-gen containerized infrastructure, implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and automated deployment pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Terraform
• Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and stay abreast of emerging technologies to drive efficiency and cost reduction
• Actively learn the products and services we offer and contribute to specifications for enhanced features that ensure operational requirements are captured and satisfied
• Document operations, report relevant metrics, and continually seek to optimize resource usage
• Minimal travel, as needed
• Availability to work outside of normal business hours (if needed) in order to collaborate with teams and vendors located across multiple time zones

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of DevOps experience, focusing on AWS & AWS GovCloud infrastructure management and deployment including secrets management, PII management and storage and overall best cyber security practices
• Experience with REST APIs, message brokers, queuing technology and various security protocols and best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub/Jenkins/etc) and CM tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Experience in compute provisioning on cloud platforms using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, NewRelic, and ELK
• Experience in building systems for high availability, scalability, and performance
• Strong background in Linux/Unix administration, with in-depth knowledge of networking and security
• Knowledgeable in scripting languages (Bash, Python)
• Experience of database administration (SQL/NoSQL) and familiarity with data structures and algorithms, plus experience in MongoDB, Python/Django
• Excellent collaboration skills across teams and geographies
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment with a broad interest in all stages of software development from prototyping to deployment, a plus

Compensation: $150,000 - $185,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including bonus and equity.
