🎭 About the role
We’re looking to continue growing our globally distributed software engineering team. We’re looking for critical thinkers who enjoy owning and solving hard problems throughout the stack.
We see Infra as a force multiplier and as the core of our ability to rapidly ship high-quality software. Broadly, you’ll be a part of the team responsible for any piece of infrastructure that we use to run, ship or monitor our software. In this role, you’ll be expected to think critically about infrastructure and how your work connects to the broader software ecosystem. You will play a key role in building, optimizing, and securing systems that power our platform while closely collaborating with engineering teams to integrate infrastructure and application code seamlessly.
What you’ll be doing (i.e. job duties):
- Thinking critically about infrastructure and how your work connects to the broader software ecosystem
- Building, optimizing, and securing systems that power our platform
- Leveraging the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) to define cloud infrastructure using code; familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices is a plus.
- Optimizing AWS infrastructure for cost and performance.
- Maintaining and enhancing our Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
- Building and automating deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring uptime with tools like New Relic.
- Collaborating with the development team to streamline application deployment.
What we look for in you (i.e. job requirements):
- Hands-on experience with software development in one or more of the following: Java/Kotlin with Spring Boot, Python, or NodeJS.
- Strong software engineering experience paired with infrastructure expertise, with a solid understanding of how infrastructure interacts with application code.
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, with experience using AWS CDK as a significant plus.
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or back-end leaning infrastructure roles
- Excited about the prospect of building software that helps solve a global problem
- Deployment and operation experience on a public cloud provider
- Proficiency with Kubernetes (K8s)
- Experience with AWS and AWS CDK
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like New Relic
- Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Able to thrive at a startup, i.e., in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity
- Team player that’s ready to wear many hats!
Nice to haves/Bonus Attributes:
- Familiarity with Spring Boot applications.
- Exposure to additional monitoring tools or frameworks.
- Experience in securing and scaling cloud-native applications.
