Your Purpose
As a Corporate Affairs Specialist for Colombia, you will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies that advance Bitso’s policy objectives through strategic collaboration with governmental agencies, regulators, industry groups, and the media. You will engage with policymakers, financial regulators, private sector participants, and financial sector associations to strengthen Bitso’s positioning in Colombia. You will also act as Bitso’s point of contact with journalists, media outlets and other key communications stakeholders, in close collaboration with our communications department.

Who You Are
We are looking for someone who combines policy expertise, communication skills, and a passion for innovation in financial services:
- Solid experience in public policy, government relations, or regulatory affairs, preferably in the financial, fintech, payments, or crypto sectors.
- Strong understanding of the Colombian regulatory and financial ecosystem, including relationships with the Superintendenecia de Sociedades, Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia, National Congress, the Ministry of Finance, and the Banco de la República.
- Experience in media relations, communications strategy, and public representation.
- Proven ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies that build trust and influence among policymakers and industry peers.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate regulatory trends into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, legal, compliance, communications, and commercial teams.
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial mindset, collaboration skills, and passion for crypto and Bitso’s mission.
What You Will Do
As Corporate Affairs Specialist for Colombia, you will:
- Forge relationships with key players in the Colombian financial industry, including regulators, associations, and financial institutions.
- Educate policy stakeholders about crypto and its role in financial freedom and inclusion.
- Collaborate with Colombian financial authorities (Supersociedades, SFC, Ministry of Finance, Banco de la República, Congress) to build constructive dialogue.
- Monitor and analyze the regulatory landscape in Colombia and assess its implications for Bitso’s operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Finance, among others) to implement local regulations.
- Influence political and social discussions to position Bitso as a leading voice in fintech and crypto.
- Partner with product and business teams to provide counsel on the policy implications of new product or regulatory changes.
- Develop policy briefs, position papers, and recommendations for leadership.
- Serve as Bitso’s point of contact for media and journalists in Colombia.
- Coordinate with external communications consultants and Bitso’s communications team to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
- Collaborate with Bitso’s participation in local events, conferences, and interviews.
- Help design and execute communication strategies that align with corporate and regulatory goals.

You will collaborate with the Colombia Country Manager, as well as the Corporate Affairs department and virtually every department at Bitso in cross-functional projects.
