Andalusia Labs is building foundational economic infrastructure for programmable global markets, connecting capital, computation, and coordination across the internet. Our work sits at the intersection of distributed systems, finance, and machine intelligence, with the goal of growing the world’s programmable GDP.

Our team has shipped massively scalable systems and products at Coinbase, Google, AWS, Microsoft, X, TikTok, Goldman Sachs, and High-Frequency Trading firms. We are backed by Coinbase, Mubadala, Lightspeed, Bain Capital, Pantera, Framework, Digital Currency Group, Proof Group, Nima Capital, Naval Ravikant, Arthur Hayes, and founders, GPs, and executives from organizations like Founders Fund, Google, and Coinbase.

Role
We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer focused on government. You will work directly with federal, state, and local partners to design, build, and launch production integrations on OpenGDP. You will own pilots from the first meeting to successful rollout, translate complex mission requirements into clear technical plans, and feed insights back into the core product. This role blends software engineering, solution architecture, and product thinking in high-stakes, real-world environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead government deployments from discovery to production, including scoping, solution design, implementation, and handoff
  • Build services, data pipelines, and APIs in Rust, Go, TypeScript, Python, or Solidity
  • Integrate with identity and security controls such as SSO and SAML or OIDC, PIV or CAC, audit logging, HSM or KMS, and role-based access
  • Stand up reliable environments in GovCloud, on premises, and air-gapped settings using containers, infrastructure as code, and modern CI
  • Support compliance paths and documentation for frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA and NIST 800-53, CJIS, and agency-specific RMF processes in partnership with Security and Legal
  • Create reference architectures, SDKs, and samples that make it easy for agencies and integrators to adopt OpenGDP
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues across networking, data quality, performance, and security with clear SLOs and runbooks
  • Write crisp design docs and interface control documents, run technical workshops, and turn mission feedback into product requirements
  • Establish repeatable playbooks for pilots, migrations, and enterprise rollouts with systems integrators and partner teams
  • Travel to customer sites for discovery, deployment, training, and relationship building

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of software engineering or solutions engineering experience working with at least one of these languages (Rust, Go, TypeScript, or Python), with the ability to read and review code in adjacent languages
  • Solid grasp of distributed systems, APIs, and data modeling, including REST or gRPC, messaging, and reliable data pipelines
  • Experience working directly with external customers or agencies, owning delivery and outcomes in complex environments
  • Fluency with DevOps practices, containers, infrastructure as code, observability, and incident response
  • Familiarity with security and compliance concepts such as identity, encryption, logging, data classification, and least privilege
  • Excellent communication with the ability to translate mission needs into technical plans and ship incrementally
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or equivalent
  • Ability to travel within the United States as needed

Bonus

  • Experience with public sector programs such as ATO and RMF, FedRAMP, CJIS, or state-level security frameworks
  • Prior work on government or critical infrastructure systems, including integrations with custodians, KYC and AML providers, payment processors, or data exchanges
  • Familiarity with Solidity, smart contract security, formal methods, or zero-knowledge concepts
  • Background with Kafka or Redpanda, Postgres or OLAP stores, event-driven systems, and high-reliability data pipelines
  • Experience collaborating with systems integrators or responding to SOWs, RFPs, and technical evaluations
